Welcome . . .
Thanks for
visiting the Basic and Applied Social Psychology web site. BASP is a
scientific journal published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Inc. It includes research
articles,
literature reviews, methodological innovations, and
theoretical statements spanning the entire range of social psychological issues. The
journal is based on the belief that social psychologists can have a part in the
understanding and solution of many social problems. Thus BASP publishes basic
research in areas of social psychology that can be applied to societal problems as well as
direct applications of social psychology to those problems. The major objective of the
journal is to provide a consolidated place for the publication of basic and applied
research from a broad range of disciplines and specialty areas.
BASP provides a way for social psychologists to
communicate with one another across a wide range of problem interests and subspecialties.
Its goal is not only to provide a forum for a broad mixture of experiments, field studies,
and reviews of social psychology, but also to serve as a resource for those interested in
the application of complex human experimentation to problems of health, environment, and
society.
On this site you will find information about journal
policies and procedures. If you have questions that are not answered here or have other
comments, send them to the Editor.
